Real Wedding - Tori and Colin at Tree Top Escape

One of the highlights of working on weddings is receiving images from clients and their amazing photographers from their wedding day. After months of communication and working on the details, it is a delight to see the cake in the context of the overall style of a cherished life event.

Earlier this year, I was honoured to be asked to make a wedding cake for Tori and Colin who were getting married in November. The day was exquisitely captured by the talented, Michelle Ley Photography and I am honoured to share some of her images with you.

The Wedding

Tori and Colin held their wedding at Tree Top Escape, an intimate wedding venue, situated on the luscious green hillside of a rural wooded valley in North Devon. The idyllic wedding venue appears to float above the countryside, offering floor-to-ceiling views of the breathtaking landscape.

The Wedding Cake

Tori and Colin had a clear vision for their wedding cake: autumnal and super stylish. They chose a pure white cake, finished with handmade sugar roses, anemones, flower buds, blackberries and green foliage. The sugar flower bouquet captured their seasonal vibe perfectly, with peachy autumnal tones and shades of deep, rich burgundy and reds.

The cake took pride of place in the drinks reception area where guests could view it immediately on arrival. Surrounded by beautiful lanterns and stunning florals.

The cake flavour was two tiers of delicious Lemon and Elderflower, a fresh flavour combination that aligned perfectly with the natural surroundings.

I love this candid image shared with me by the bride of guests capturing the moment that the newlyweds cut the cake!
