Real Wedding Inspiration - Hannah and Sean

The calm moments as the year closes serve not just to prepare for the upcoming year, but also to reflect on the year's highlights. As I sit at my desk this November and review the past year, I realise there are so many memorable moments! One of the highlights of working on weddings is receiving images from clients’ wedding days. After months of communication and working on the details, it is delightful to see the cake in the context of the overall style of what is undoubtedly a joyous life event.

Today, I’m excited to share stunning images from Hannah and Sean’s day at The Venue, Sandy Cove Hotel, beautifully captured by Yeti Photography. For this wedding inspiration, it is truly all about the details!

Wedding Inspiration – The Venue

It was easy to see why Hannah and Sean chose their venue. Sandy Cove Hotel is set on a North Devon cliff top in the picturesque harbour of Ilfracombe. With an area of outstanding natural beauty surrounding the hotel, Sandy Cove is a modern space, offering panoramic views of the sea, the Atlantic coastline, and the rolling hills of Exmoor.

Wedding Inspiration – The Wedding Style

The wedding colour palette included pretty shades of pink, natural greens, white and luxurious rose gold. The palette and style were exemplified in the exquisite menus and table linen. Flowers by Floral Art Devon were pretty and romantic, exuding that air of just-picked freshness.

Wedding Inspiration – Cake Details

Hannah was a delight to work with, having a clear vision for her wedding day and cake. It was a natural choice for her wedding cake, a timeless three-tier semi-naked style cake. They chose a delicious combination of White Chocolate and Raspberry for the base tier, Toffee and Salted Caramel for the middle tier and Raspberry and Rose for the top tier.

Key to the success of the cake design was of course the styling details. The cake was finished with fresh flowers from the fabulous Floral Art Devon which added the extra wow factor to the cake styling. The cake was showcased just in front of the balcony at The Venue, providing a breathtaking coastal view as a stunning backdrop.

Wedding Inspiration – Favour Biscuits

Just like a wedding cake can be tailored to fit a wedding theme, I adore how edible wedding favours can also be customised in the same way. Hannah and Sean provided all their 124 guests with our delicious edible favours – white chocolate vanilla snap biscuits. Each biscuit topped with pale pink fondant and personalised with their initials and wedding date and finished with delicate sugar pearls. They looked beautiful next to the charming table menus.

Hannah and Sean had a clear vision for creating a romantic, elegant and natural wedding day. Thank you so much to you both for sharing these images and for asking me to be a part of your day! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness together as husband and wife.
